i went through a 9 1/2 yrs marriage that was abusive, my ex was a moron and his son's not mine beat on me for a few yrs, i was told"I couldn't have a baby" by him and now i know iw as greatful i didn't, i met a wonderful, loving, caring man ,we have alot in common and are getting married on valentine day, yes we are eloping, we want a baby.We read risks and we have so much love for a baby even if he or she had down syndrome.I'm wondering has anyoen been in my shoes?
I have not started a full change of life ,still get auntie flo, i get hot and cold flashes and sometiems sleepless nights or cranky but that it.

If you are healthy then I would go for it. It's a strain on your body carrying a baby and once he/she is born you will need a lot of energy to keep up.

To get ready for pregnancy and birth make sure you are eating healthy and start taking pregnancy vitamins and folate to help reduce the chances of any deficiencies. Stop drinking alcohol and cut down the caffeine as well. Make sure he does the same as his sperm depends on his health as well.

There are risks at any age, it's just the odds are greater the older you get. You just need to make sure you do everything you can to help prevent it but sometimes even that's not enough.

Good luck with it all. I eloped for my 2nd marriage as well and don't regret it for a second!!!!
