I'm 100% effaced will be 40 weeks on Tuesday and I am just plain old D-O-N-E done. I am sick of feeling her head bumping and rubbing against my cervix. you think with all the movement in there I would start to have contravtioms but no. I've only had two and I'm can't sleep. I'm dehydrated walking doesn't help vigorous activity does nothing. what more can I do? I swear if I hear that shell come when she's ready one more time I'm going to cry. my body is fully prepared except for.that.I'm not.dilating and I can't stand having her press on my cervix anymore. i can't cough or laugh without her big head causing stabbing pains.in my cervix.

I wouldn't get an induction unless your life or the baby's life was at risk. Your chances of having a c-section becomes 50 to 75 percent. Inductions can and do fail. If it doesn't work, you will have surgery. Do not do an elective induction. they are risky for you and baby.

You should try to see if your doctor can induce your labor. I have two kids and my doctor induced my labor. with my last pregnancy I had diabetes so I wanted him out as soon as possible so I can make sure that he was going to be a healthy boy.

your body probably wants to be extra prepared. maybe that just means waiting will give you an easier labor. I went 41 weeks and 5 days. a normal pregnancy is 37 to 42 completed weeks. your body makes you crave and welcome labor by making you uncomfortable. it will happen. nobody is pregnant forever. you may have ovulated later than you though and could be that your due date is a little off. but hardly anyone has their babies on the due dates. it is an estimate after all. what you probably need to do is rest as much as possible and try to take cat naps here and there. stress can put labor off by a few days. you will be uncomfortable. But if you wait for labor to start on it's own it will be a lot easier. I hear pitocen can be the pitts.

I would'nt recommend the oil. I have heard alot of negative outcomes with it. My pastors mother did it when she was pregnant with her and she said it DID make her go into labor BUT only because she was throwing up and having diareah at the same time. She said it was HORRIBLE!!! As she was pushing, she was literally throwing up and having diareah at the same time... SOOO with that being said I was tooo scared to even try it.

1st pregnancy, I did pressure points and went into labor 3 weeks early...OOPS! wasn't sure if it was pressure points or just couinsedence but its worth a shot...

2nd Pregnancy I was schedualed to be induced 3 days before my due date which was on a Saturday and went into labor at 2am that morning and did'nt even have to be induced... She will come when she is ready. Give her some time:) I know the feeling LOL...

I had a high risk pregnancy so my Dr was a specialist, she said that caster oil was a laxative and has no realy effect on causing labor it's an old wives tale. She also said drs won't let pregnancy go much over 41 weeks anymore because the placenta gets tired and isn't as effective or produce as much oxygen. But I live in Canada so maybe it's different other places.

I was induced on my 40 week due date - I had GD and I guess they feared the baby would get too big. He didn't - not even close but it was really the best thing. So, it was my first and it has been allowed here with many of my friends here locally. Sometimes it just depends on common practice in your area. If you are induced and there's not signs of labor it does put you at higher risk for having to have a C-Section (I've heard of people scheduling those too though - no thanks).

The end can be really hard for a lot of women, but we forget about it almost as soon as the baby is born! So go out and eat and shop for the baby or go walk around a local museum because no matter how uncomfortable you are it's easier now than when you have a newborn or baby or toddler for that matter. haha!

You are going to be so in love this will be all a distant memory and life will be a new kind of hard!

Best of Luck! I hope the baby comes soon!

Ok, while I don't agree with taking castor oil to kickstart labour, because there are real side effects that can have negative impact on the baby, I must ask....how the F*&k can your unborn baby ingest the castor oil you have taken orally? Do you know how utterly insane that sounds? Do you actually understand how the digestive system vs. the placenta works?

Really Castor Oil? Guess you werent afraid of poisoning your babies. They can ingest that you know.

I took caster oil with both babies and had them within 24 hours. I hear it works best as long as your effaced and dilated. Neither is needed to try it but I think its a miracle medicine. Plus it cleans out your system and your less likely to make a mess while pushing.

Both my babies were induced. It was the best thing since sliced bread! I was overdue with my first and the doctor could tell he was plenty big enough to meet the world so he told me to pick a day. I went in, didn't have to worry about my water breaking in the middle of Walmart, had my epidural, it took about 8 hours from arrival to delivery and the pitosin did make me a little sick to my stomach but overall, badda bing, badda boom...9lbs 12 oz. 21 1/2 in. baby boy.

So, when hadn't delivered by my given due date, I said I wished I could get induced again, like I did with my son, that was so easy. To my surprise, my doctor said that we could do that. Everything went faster this time and I didn't get sick to my stomach. It took me 4 pushes and she came out so fast they almost dropped her in the trash can. 9lbs. 6oz. 22 1/2 in. bouncing baby girl.

Both healthy, athletic, high functioning children. I'd be asking to get induced like NOW! Good luck!!!

You may feel your body is ready but its not. And its true, she really will come when shes ready. If you try to induce her it can cause complications with the baby and delivery. I realize its hard to wait but in this case it is best for your baby.

I know how you feel both my children were over due it got to the point my BF and I stopped awnsering the phone because people wanted to know if the baby was born yet, like we wouldn't tell people. I was grumpy and very uncomfortable, I was so relived when the contractions started I cryed. As much as it sucks right now multiply it by a hundred and that's how great it will be when you have that beautiful baby in you arms :)

They might allow it since you are already in the 40week,just let them know that you have pain. I know its hard to wait but she will come soon. could you update how it went?

Since this is my first pregnancy I don't think they will allow it . I'm doing my best to just be patient. I didn't think it would be this hard to wait for anything though. But if she doesn't come by Wednesday I am atleast going to ask.

Can you call the docter and ask if you can get induced? Good luck and congratulations :-)
