I want my 10 month old baby boy to sleep in his crib! How?

My 10 month old has slept with us since day 1 but my husband and I want our bed back! I've been reading other posts to try and get an idea but still feel so lost. Especially since he still nurses during the night. So I am wondering if I should break him from that first or kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I know it would be best for him to sleep in his own crib since me and my husband have talked about it, I just don't want to be cruel...HELP!!

When my baby was 9 months her doctor told us that we needed to get her into her own bed and the best way she said was to just let her cry it out. It was hard to just let her cry but by the second night she went right to sleep! Just so you know some days are better than others especially when she is teething! I hope this helps!

My daughter is a year old and still occasionally wales to nurse at night especially when she's teething, but she sleeps in her crib in her room. When she wakes I get her bring her into our bed she nurses for about ten minutes and when she's done she goes back into her crib. My point is you can get your little one into the crib but still nurse at night you don't have to stop both because you are no longer wanting to share your bed.

Thanks ladies, your comments were very helpful and encouraging. I finally did it and he is almost completely over it and not crying anymore. It was really hard for me but now Im enjoying my bed back!
