Kay I will tell you something and I have to say I have never said anything before, I myself have done crunches in a warm bath, I like this because having a bath is something that i like to do and doing crunches in the bath is just as least expensive then anything out there. Not only are you bathing you are crunching and tighting your stomach mucles and sweating that is a big thing, I dont know like I have said never have said anything to anyone before this is something I have been doing since my first to my last and I am still a little bit cubbie but you know what not as bad for having 3 kids lol. Hopefully this has helped

if you play airplane with the baby, (when u put the baby on your legs laying down and bend your legs in and out) builds up your abs. And squats holding your baby builds up your but and thighs. Google excercises with babies theirs all different excercises that you can do with your baby so you dont even have to buy weights.
STROLLER STRIDES!!!! it's an AMAZING workout that you do with your baby!! i've been doing it for about a year, and loved it so much, i decided to get certified to be an instructor! there's franchises all over the country, so there's probably one near you. check them out - www.strollerstrides.com. i honestly can't say enough about it. it's good for your body and mind, it's a great social connection for you and your kids, and since you bring your kids with you, it sets a wonderful, healthy example for them! when my husband comes with me to class, my 3.5 year old does the whole workout! ps-my husband comes with me every day he's home from work. he says that he can skip the gym because it's such a great workout! i've lost more than 25 lbs, and am wearing a smaller pants size than pre-2 babies AND pre-wedding! seriously, check it out!! it's not expensive, either!

Again, check out the YMCA. If you can't afford it ask them for assistance. The Y does not turn anyone away for inability to pay. They have a form you fill out and they may ask you to pay a small amount but it can be as low as $10 a month. Many times they have trainers on staff that don't charge anything and they usually have tons of classes you can go to. Some even include your baby!

Do you live near a university? I just got in touch with a student who has to do so many "Personal Training" sessions for people. She asked what I had access to for equipment and what I enjoyed doing and then she put together a "routine" for me to do. Most of it can be done while supervising my 2 year old (she likes to work out with me too). Best of all, it's FREE and I can do it at home when I have time! Good Luck!

Check out SparkPeople.com it is a free weightloss site. I just joined last week. It has much the same things you would get from weightwatchers.com except it is free. They have exercises you can do without fancy gym equipment and a food diary and a fitness diary. It's all sound advice too. No quick fixes. Hope this helps. Tara

If you belong to blockbuster, you can get a workout video there and do the exercises at home. Or subscribe to Blockbuster/Netflix online and get your videos there.
For me, it was helpful to have a friend to do exercises with me and kept me motivated...walking was a really good thing for me too...and when my kids were small, I could do these any time of the day!!!

try good old fashioned walking it doesn't cost a thing take some music with you something with a fast beat and go at a good steady pace not so your out of breath but enough to get your heart pumping it works all your muscles and if you go different routes it can be enjoyable that way you don't see it as a workout and on day's when the weather is bad put on some music and get moving you can go as crazy as you like and who care's nobody is there to see you, when my kid's were little we would dance around like nut's and it does tone you up an hour of doing something fun beat's the gym anyday. Cheers, Julie

I would suggest starting off small by establishing a routine. You can get up as little as 5 minutes earlier or do active things during commercials if you have a favorite TV show. I would start off with push-ups and sit ups (or crunches). Pick a number that you can do now and then every week (or every other week) add 5 more to that number. This does not take a great deal of time, but by building these muscles you will in turn burn more calories and become stronger, thinner and more toned. You can then increase your work out by adding weights, doing lunges, squats, jumping rope, etc. I hope this helps! Every little bit of activity helps. Even parking farther away from a store so that you have to walk a little bit farther is good. It all adds up in the long run. Thanks, Jamie

after my daughter i had this strong need to work out, but same as you, couldnt afford to buy a gym membership or trainer.
i bought a yoga mat, a pair of those resistance bands, and a stability ball, i worked out for about an hour every morning for 2 months and actually got looking really good again.
of course once i stopped working out the weight came back, and now i'm pregnant again.
but ya... just those few things motivated me, and i also (as cheezy as it is) used to record the "carribean workout" on OLN, i dont know if you have that channel. but every morning around 530 6 ish, they would play a different workout... if i couldnt do it at 530 am, i would just try to get it in later in the day, sometimes they're fun. you look silly as heck so maybe close the blinds... but ya.. worked for me. :) good luck
ps. if you dont have OLN i'm sure you could probably buy carribean workout, or something similar on dvd.
