I have three children one 12 year old boy, one 5 year old girl, and 4 year old girl. I have a cellphone for the 12 year old to use there is food and everything they need. My husband is worried in Miami Dade Florida we could have failure to protect if we ever left them under the 12 year old's supervisions . Can you find out? What maybe DCF in Miami Dade County Florida says?

If it was just your 12 year old, I would say you'd be fine. But putting your 12 year old in charge of a 4 and 5 year old? No. General recommendations say not before they are 12 years old without adult supervision. So while the law may not specify, I am pretty sure you would find that something like a National SAFEKIDS Campaign would count for something.

Why would you consider leaving children this age home on their own anyway?
