I am 26.2 wks pregnant with fraternal twins and i would like to know how many mothers gave birth naturally, especially as i am a little scared of having a c-section, but fear that it is unavoidable but i wish to know how many mums have been able to have their twins naturally.

I have 11 year old fraternal twins that I gave birth to naturally. Topped up with an epidural. My waters broke at 33 weeks and I was induced so they were born quite eary. Number 2 spun around to come out breach but all was ok. Good Luck

When I was pregnant with my two year old there was a lady in my online due date club who had triplets at home. If you go to google and type in "triplet home birth" and "Lily" which was one of their names you'll probably get a link to the video. It's amazing and will make you cry.

What does your ob say? Tell him/her that you'd like to give birth naturally and see what s/he says. I would be uncomfortable with a doctor who says you MUST do a c-section without valid reasons. I feel like so many ob's in America automatically do a c-section if you're having multiple babies.

I've got four yearold twins and had them both naturally! Like you i was not happy with the idea of a c- section and even more scared of having one naturally and not the other!! My girls were born at 38 weeks and were good weights, luckily they were both head down, although my consultant said that if twin 2 was to turn after twin 1 was born they would still try and deliver naturally as long as her position still meant that it was possible!! I hope its some comfort for you to know that it is possible to do it naturally and good luck!!!

I had twins April 8. From the start until about 6 months my Doctor was all for the natural. Then watching one of the twins he realized she wasn't ever showing head down he changed his mind. Don't be scared, trust that your Doctor is making the right call for you and the well being of the babies! The c-section wasn't bad, recovery for me was fast. Whatever happens it is for the best. Good luck.

My mother had my twin sister and me naturally...one head down, one breach! I had my b/g twins by emergency c-section. My plan had been to have them naturally, but due to a complication with my daughter, it was determined by the medical staff, and out of my control. At that point, all my concern and worry was about the health and safety of my daughter, and not about the c-section. If you have a team of doctors that you trust, know that they only want the healthiest pregnancy, and healthiest babies for you. Their goal is to make sure that you and they have the safest, easiest, healthiest delivery possible. Best of luck...and though it is easy to say and not easy to do, try to not stress too much about the impending delivery. (Too much stress has been shown to increase colic in newborns!)

I have 12 year old fraternal twins and my doctor wanted me to have them naturally, however my son had a large head and wasn't coming out. They were becoming distressed and after many many hours I had a c-section. But not because of the multiple birth. So there's a good chance you can have them naturally but don'y fret if you have to have the c-section. Everything will work out fine and the important thing is getting those babies here healthy. I recovered very fast from my c-section, the labor was the thing that wore me out!

What ever keeps you and your babies safe you are still giving them life right.

my normal obgyn says they'll try to give me a natural birth, but my specialist is really leaning more towards the c-section as it is a more common practice with multiple deliveries, but has said they'll try to give me a natural birth if it is in the cards

Ive not had twins but i have had a c-section and its not all that bad, of course i would of liked to give birth naturally but my daughter was breech, i will choose to have a natural birth next time if i can but thats only cos i want to experiance it and nothing to do with my previous section. Even tho it was an emercency c section it was very relaxed and i felt carm throughout the operation. Your birth partner can come in with you so your not alone and the epidural itself does not hurt, just a little scratch so dont worry if you cant go natural, as long as your babies are safe thats all that matters. Good luck.
