If I put a prefold diaper into a pair of panties or cloth trainer would it be good for night time...

wetting? I have looked online for waterproof training pants to put on my daughter at night but they are all like $10-$15 or more per pair. I want to save money so I don't have to buy pull-ups. Anyway, my daughter has been having problems with redness, and sometimes the gel bit from the disposibles get on her skin, that might be causing irritaion. I would like to get some tips. My daughter hates wetting the bed, maybe if she felt the wetness it would help her to wake up to go to the bathroom. She always crys and is so upset when she wakes up wet. Please, I need advice.

I just put a plastic diaper cover over the regular training pants I have. If you can find the diaper cover it would probably be cheaper then the waterproof training pants. I guess I always just see the cloth diapers in stores and not covers, but then again I don't really look because I don't use cloth. I got the covers from an Aunt. Hope this helps. :)

If it is just for night time, why don't you just buy a one or two pairs? If that's not an option, I think a prefold with a cover would be fine. Or you could take 2 pairs of panties and sew them together with a microfiber soaker between the two...

I have folded a flat-fold or prefold diaper and inserted it into undies and then put on rubber pants over top for waterproof layer.
