Hey , I just had a squeeze at my nipple and there was this white and yellow sticky stuff that came out. So there are two things I need to know.

Is it colostrum?

AND

Does that mean i can breastfeed?

Please help !

P.S Apologies if my question is too straightforward. I cant really re-phrase it ...

I'm 31 weeks and two days. And I really hope I can. That seems to make sense, pregnancy is different for everyone.

It would help to know how far along you are in your pregnancy.

We don't know if you will produce enough milk, that will depend on your body and your baby.

With my first I couldn't keep up with him and only breastfed for 5 weeks. With my 2nd & 3rd I breastfed for 6 months. There are too many variables for us to be able to say yes or no.

I am willing to breastfeed, I don't really encourage the idea of bottle feeding but some mothers are left without a choice. Maybe I should define the question more, what I meant was does this mean I have a one hundred percent chance of being able to produce milk? Because I know not all women can produce milk and I really don't want that to happen to me. And also, the colostrum was almost like little droplets. Does that mean I will leak later on or does it only happen when I squeeze the breast? Should I wear breast pads? Sorry for all the question!

You will produce colostrum towards the end of your pregnancy and after birth. Everyone does, it's the hormones that get released.

Some women find it easy to breastfeed and others have more trouble. You should at least give it a go to see if it works for you.
