I think some people allow their babies to sleep in swings. I would personally suggest to try to find something more stable as soon as you can.

You can look into sidesleeper (they have different names for them) You can buy one for about $50. they are meant for co-sleeping. Some attach to the side of your bed, others go on your bed.It will also save you some space. http://www.target.com/p/summer-infant-by...

Go to freecycle.org and see if anyone is offering things you might need for the baby (you can post asking for things also)

Not sure what you mean by a rocker, but my son slept in a "baby carrier" the first few weeks or so before transitioning to the bassinet. (By carrier, I mean something that resembles a baby car seat but isn't... has a handle and it actually did have a rocking base. Maybe its the same as your rocker?). He was very snug and slept very well there. Just make sure its in a stable place where it can't fall off anywhere, and follow safety guidelines as if he were in a crib... such as, use a sleep sack instead of blankets that he/she could get tangled in or could prevent air flow. Congrats on your expected baby!
