The 4 1/2 yr old..it is TOTALLY an age thing..however will become a constant problem if you do not deal with it properly. You must be exhausted and I am certain that by the end of the day you just want to hide.

Consistency is key. You HAVE to follow through once you threaten a punishment otherwise they will run circles around you. So always watch what you say because they will expect you to follow through.

It's an age thing and as long as your consistent with them and you don't let them get away with it they will get better. I sugesst you find some kind of a deverstion My 5 year old behaves so much better when I keep her buy all day an indoor park if the weather is bad or an trip to the park if the weather is nice is a great way to use up some of that energy in all of you. Also story time at your library and if you can offord it I'd enroll in a gym class or swim lessons. It's very important that you be consistant and stick to your guns if he won't stay in time out then put him in his room and don't feed into his fits It's hard but if you ignore it they won't last that long. (My 5 year old acts like this as well from time to time) Just hang in there momma things will get better
