she turned 2 in march and has no expectation to go on the toilet by herself she goes when we put her on the potty chair but thats it and with a new baby coming in 3 weeks im scared its going to just make her regress more

I would wait until after the baby comes too. Yes, she'll probably regress a little. And, if she's not totally ready, you could be in for a fight for months, never mind weeks, without a new baby battling for attention. Wait until after the baby is born, and you've all settled.

I would not bother to potty train her at this time as you say she is going to regress when the baby comes because it is an attention seeking tool! Stop until she is showing signs of interest in the toilet or does not want her nappy on at all. Then start. In fact having a small baby in nappies will help you as she will see that nappies are for babies and not for big girls.

Toilet training should only take a few weeks if the child is ready. I would not push her to do this if she is not ready yet especially with the little one on the way. Make life easier for yourself and wait a while.

Good luck with the new arrival :-)
