Implanon or Mirena? How bad did getting them put in hurt? Did your SO say Mirena was uncomfortable during sex?

I'm looking into a long term BC method and have narrowed it down to these two. I have a 3 week old baby and want to wait a while (4yrs) before having more kids. I have a fairly low pain tolerance and my Fiance said that his ex's Mirena was really uncomfortable for him. So I'm hoping to hear from people who have experience with using these BC methods.

Thanks.

I've only had the Implanon and it's just like having a needle when it gets put in. To take it out they give you a local and have to make a small cut.

I would look into all the side effects as well though. I bled for 6 months straight with the Implanon until I got it taken out. I have seen some horrible side effects from the Mirena as well. As far as mu research has found is that the copper IUD is the one with the least side effects because it doesn't use hormones.
