Inadequate Diapers

I have a 5 month old who wakes up wet 2 or 3 times a night. We are using Huggies (which we used with our last child and didnt have this same issue), have tried putting him in a larger size but even this doesnt help.

Can anybody recommend a brand that seems to absorb better please?? (our first child was allergic to pampers so i am a little reluctant to try them)

I would say it is normal and I honestly don't know if there is a brand that will fully protect during the night, every single night. We have tried Pampers, Huggies, and store brands and they are all the same to us. Our boys are trained during the day, but at night they wear diapers and I would say AT LEAST 3 nights a week, one of them, if not both wake up wet.

I found that the Walmart brand Parent's choice works best which is great because it is almost half the price.

A suggestion often used for kids on tube feeds overnight (they pee more overnight) is to use the regular diaper, and put a second larger diaper over top. Usually that fixes the problem. You can also put chux on the bed for leaks.

I've always used Pampers with my son. They're great. He's never even had nappy rash.

I tried one package of Huggies when he was a newborn, and every single one I tried on him LEAKED after just a little while. I tried 3 or 4 of them and then gave them away.

Maybe it has to do with boy/girl or body shape, because some people love Huggies.

I know you said you are reluctant, but I've found Pampers to be much more absorbent than Huggies. I use cloth diapers with my second child, and I like those even better than the pampers I used with my oldest.

I'm not sure if your first child was a boy or girl but make sure that when you change him his penis is pointing down. My son used to always pee through his diapers until I realised this. If that is not the problem then just buy the smallest pack of different brands until you find one that works.

Sorry...I used Huggies and loved them, never had any issues at all with them at all and my son still drink a whole cup of milk before bed. Hes potty trained during the day but still using diapers at night. Its different for everyone though! My oldest son used papmpers cause he was allergic to Huggies. I was reluctant to use Huggies with my second, but its what we had from showers & he did great with them. They have overnight brands that are more absorbant...but that might be for older babies!
