I lost a baby at 19 weeks 14 years ago then I had a stillbirth at 28 weeks with a cervical stitch. For my next pregnancy 12 years ago I had a stitch at 37 weeks I delivered a healthy baby, my next pregnancy 10 1/2 years ago no stitch was put in I was induced at 37 weeks baby was fine. Pregnant again and the doctor won't put the stitch in for this baby either. I'm very scared should I worry or will my baby be ok?

Ask them what exactly does he/she mean with an incompetent cervix and if you're at risk with this pregnancy. Address your concern and ask as many questions as possible to put your mind at ease. It's more than likely that this baby will also be born at 37 wks. but who knows, you might just carry to full term. If your Dr. doesn't see it necessary to put a stitch in then he/she already knows the possibilities of early delivery or is hoping you carry to full term. But in either case, you'll be well taken care of. So don't worry, it only creates more unnecessary stress on your body. Take it easy and put your feet up.

I'm still very nervous I lost my first pregnancy 14 years ago when I was 18 years old. Then 10 months later at 19 I had a stillbirth at 27 weeks, with a stitch put in at 14 weeks. Now with my 11 year old the doctor put a stitch in at 14 weeks and removed it at 37 weeks and induced me to have the baby.
10 months later I got pregnant with another baby at 22 years with a different doctor. He decided not to put one in they monitored me the entire pregnancy I was induced at 37 weeks with her.
Now l'm 32 with my fifth pregnancy same doctor as the last baby he has decided not to put a stitch in this time either. Why would they say I have an incompetent cervix if the last pregnancy didn't require a stitch? Same with this baby I'm really scared! What should I say to the doctor?

Hi :)
It doesn't sound like you were at risk in your last pregnancy. I think you'll be fine with this one as well. I'm sure they'll keep an eye on you n you already know the signs right. So if anything feels weird or starts happening let your OBGYN know right away so they can have a handle/prevent on time.
Good luck, take care :)
