If your baby isn't big enough to sit in the seat part of the shopping cart yet.... you can baby wear. I also used to have a baby in the stroller and just stick stuff in the stroller and only do small trips if I didn't have any help. You can also push a stroller AND a shopping cart, but that is a pain in the butt last resort.

Lilly – There are several safe options for bringing a baby with you to the store. However, please know that it’s never safe to place a car seat carrier on top of the cart, even if it appears to have a latch that fits. With more than 100 different types of shopping carts in use in the United States, no carrier fits every cart, and many manufacturers warn parents not to place carriers on top of carts.
One safe and convenient option is using a specially-designed cart with a Safe-Dock fitted in the top basket, where you can buckle in your baby’s carrier. If you haven’t seen these new features in your grocery store, you can go to www.shoppingcartsafety.com and type your ZIP code into the search area. The site will show which nearby stores have Safe-Dock, and if your favorite stores do not have them, you can click a button to write a note to the store requesting they use Safe-Docks. Happy Shopping!
