I'm am at my wits end with my 8 month old wakeing every 2 hours at night. I've tried everything doctors, nurses and other moms have suggested. Even tried natural remedies, at the health shop one of the shop assistants suggested to go see a chiropractor. did some research and they say it can help for babies with colic reflux and sleeplessness.

I woul just like to know if there is anyone who has taken their baby to a chiropractor and what was the results. Or just your oppinion on it.

I have been through the same phase and tried every remedy to settle down my baby but he was even fussier than before. At last, babies magic tea did work and my baby got soothed.

Hi Mari. I've not taken my baby, but have taken my 8 year old son. I have a good friend that's a Chiropractor and he's been adjusting his son since an hour after his birth. As strange as it sounds adjustments can relieve the pain of ear infections and digestive disorders. It's worth checking it out but be sure the Chiro you take your baby to is certified and licensed. Good Luck!

Both my kids have seen a chiropractor since newborn. I have scoliosis, probably from carrying bags and poor posture as a kid, so I would really like my kids to grow up straight. So far they have no real problems, but general falls as a kid can cause subluxations. I have also heard they have great success in treating reflux and sleeping problems. I have a great chiropractor in Rockingham, which may be convenient for you if you travel up this way. His name is Clinton Kessey and he is at Safety Bay Chiropractric. He has 2 young kids himself and is just fantastic with babies.

My daughter has been seen by a chiropractor since she was a week old and is rarely sick ( and if she gets a cold it is short lived and doesn't recur a week later). I would research the chiropractors in your area and make sure they are a reputable office and that they adjust children. Many childhood illnesses and adult illnesses stem from subluxations as a baby. If the spine is realigned, the body can heal itself. My chiropractor has a patient with a child that had sleep difficulties too. After one adjustment, she could see improvement and now he sleeps through the night. I know of two really great chiropractors in NM and NC. If you're near those states, I'll be glad to send you their names.

My children have been seeing a chiropractor since they came home from the hospital...My Chiropractor assisted in finding the right formula that agreed with my youngest child’s digestive system....The chiropractor method is not cracking or jerking my body but using an Activator Methods (stimulator) to align the spine. If I was you, I would ask their method of practice before taking your baby in for a visit….Good Luck!!!

I've taken my son to my chiropractor. I went to HS with my chiro and his daughter is just a few weeks younger than my son. My chiro has adjusted my son and also adjusted his daughter her whole life.

There are definite benefits and I think, as with any health care provider, do your research and hire someone who has experience with children.

Good luck!

Love Love Love them. Everything in our bodies are connected through the central nervous system...this is what chiros work on...do go to a pediatric chiro ask to feel what the adjustment will feel like on you so you know, it is waaay different than one you or i would get, very gentle

Chirpractors who specialize in babies/ children are great! I do massage for a living & work closely with a chiropractor, my son has been ajusted since he was 6 weeks old. I swear by it for everyone!! But one thing people need to realize is with chiropractic, you need to usually keep up with it. The reason being is if we don't change our lifestyle we need to continue to keep putting the spine in alighnment!! Also some of us jsut don't keep our adjustments- me being one. But as the babys grown and change they need adjustments. When they start walking espeically! Because they stand they fall. they stand they fall.........you get the point.

Chiroparctors can help everything from ear infections to ADHD in kids, but yes, be sure to go to a reputable one. I have a friend who is a chiro and I called her school and had them refer me to an Alum in my area. The School is named American in Chicago. They have alum all over the world!! I also recommend seeing a DO instead of an MD. My DO does adjustments right in his office and it is covered under insurance.

I agree with carol, my daughter also woke loads and we did a thing called the sleepeasy program and wow now she sleeps from 7 till 7, before no sleep! we dream feed her at 10. the best thing i have ever done, hard but worth while. my daughter has also seen a chiropractor since she was 2 weeks old and we find she is so happy after the visits. but the it didn't really help with the sleeping, ever baby is different though. My daugter is formula feed and i also think that helps with the sleeping through, formula was not a choice for me but something that i ended up having to do and if i had my way i would rather be getting up and breast feeding during the night than using formula but thats how it has to be with us, having good sleep makes the time you spend with your baby so much better so i do recomend the sleepeasy program. it is america.

Not sure if this is of any relation but are you still feeding during the night? My daughter now 11months was waking up every 2hrs till 9months when finally I found some courage and stopped the feeding during the night. Just a thought....

I work at a chiropractors office and my daughter is one now and has been coming since she was 2 weeks old. They don't crack their backs like they do adults they just wiggle the bone in to place. It can make your baby a lot healthier. My daughter has only been sick twice, but as far as the sleeping thing I don't know if that helps because my daughter still gets up every 2 hours. My doctor said some babies just can't get back to sleep on their own. I understand about you being at wits end it is hard to not sleep.

Going to the chiropractor is great for ear infections as well. My son would get them all the time, they were going to put tubes in. Brought him to my chiropractor and he has not had one since. 4 ear infection in 6 months to nothing in 1 1/2 years. It has also improved his asthma. Have not had an asthma attack since.

I took my son to a chiropractor when he was 3 weeks old, and he was fine. Slept good and all, but from the first day I started working again, he woke up a few times at night. He is 20 months now, and still wakes up, and I have also tried everything. Some nights he wakes up every hour, some nights he wakes up once. He dreams a lot and talks in his sleep.

My chiropractor adjusts my baby and it's great. BUT you NEED to do your research. Not all chiropractors are good, and it is so important to know for sure that you can trust whoever is putting his hands on your baby because it is possible to do a lot of damage if he's not good.....and of course you know that you are your baby's only advocate, so it's up to you to do your research and thoroughly screen any candidates. Ask what he would do, how he would decide a method of treatment, have him check and adjust you to see if you like his manner and his methods. Good luck! When done well, chiropractic can be a life saver for adults, children and infants!

YES!!! My brother had major major issues and parents took him to a chiropractor- he started sleeping through the night! Fast forward 25 years- I now take my daughter to the same chiropractor (she's 4 mo) and have been since she was born. JUST BE CAREFUL. There are some who cause more problems than help. If you let me know where you live, I can ask my chiropractor if he knows anyone he recommends in your area.
