Hi! My daughter is 6 weeks old I recently put her on just formula from breast milk. I'm giving her Gerber good start soothe She drinks it fine no spit up but when she had a bowel movement she got red in the face and started crying like she was in a lot of pain :(( I called the dr and he said its normal from the transition but it's been a week now & no change. Is there a different kind of formula out there that will take the constipation away?? Open to any suggestions to help my princess please!!!

I used enfamil gentle ease and it contained NO IRON! Often times the iron content in the formula is way to high for their little systems. I also needed to use the glycerin suppositories on my son to help him. He once went 7 days and i was in a panic. I was still bfing him, with formula supplementing the 3 days that I was at work, and it wreaked havoc on his little system.

Hi, My daughter is 8 weeks old and I'm breastfeeding her but I recently introduced "Novalac Improved Transit" and she's been constipated since then and I was wondering if the cause of constipation is the mix of breast milk and formula? Please Help!!! *worried mom*

My prem twins both got constipation from NAN formula, I moved them onto Novalac IT (improved transit) and voila! It solved all our constipation problems, and really quickly. Good luck!

the only one I have good memories of, from the formula days, is Nestle Goodstart - I don't know if they have that in the US, but in terms of bowel-problem avoidance it scored where so many others missed!
