Infant with thrush

My 5 week old has a small white coating on his tongue. From the research I've done, I'm assuming its thrush. I asked my son's pediatrician what I should do about his tongue and she recommended me to leave it as is. She said that the body will naturally take care of it and not to fret. I just wanted some opinions from any moms that have experienced this with their infants. Should I leave it or should I do something about it? Need mommy advice.

I would not just leave it, it can spread to his throat and the rest of his mouth, which is bad. When my youngest babes developed thrush when she was just a newborn, I used Grapefruit Seed Extract and it worked really well. You have to be very diligent about the use though, and if you are it will clean it up within a few days.
