introduce spoon/solids?

My son will be 4 months on Aug 7. He only eats rice in his bottle at night time, I have been trying to introduce the spoon but by the time he gets hungry he wants nothing to do with he screams his head off to get the bottle. How do I get him to actually eat what I put on the spoon? Because he just smiles and spits it out. I want to introduce solids when he turns 4 months but at this rate he's not liking the spoon yet.

He's not ready. His actions are telling you this. It actually isn't recommended that you start solids until 6 months,a s this is the age that MOST babies are really ready, physically, to eat anything other than breastmilk or formula. You also should NOT be putting rice cereal in a bottle, as it can be a choking hazard. Unless, of course, you are doing it under strict medical advice? It really should only be introduced on a spoon.

Some babies ARE ready at 4 months, but it sounds like yours isn't. I'd leave it for a couple of weeks and try again. He may or may not be ready by then. But as long as he keep spitting it out, he isn't ready.
