If your like me I quite often struggle for things to do with my boys. Some days we are stuck inside due to the heat or the cold so I am fishing for inventive game ideas and thought we could all share some and then we will never have bored kids again!!! ha ha!
Anyway here are some of mine - please play along and add yours:
Draw a town on the floor of your garage using chalk. Make a shop, service station (old huggies box and a rope for pump), mail box etc. Draw things like lakes and forests (apple trees are good and fun to pretend things about). A house with playschool friends coming out of it. Ride ride ons/trikes around to all the different places.
Go to a large department store (ie Harvey Norman) and ask to take some of their bigger boxes - washing machines etc and some smaller ones. Make smaller ones into cars, boats, pirate ships and the large ones into castles, houses, shops. Again can set this up in your garage.
Shaddow tag or for littlies jumping on each others shaddows.
Small watering can - kept my son entertained for ages. He watered the garden, his slide, all his toys.
Bubble bath - if water restrictions permit.
Sack races, egg and spoon
Head down thumbs up
Water painting - use large house paint brushes and paint outside fences/brick work with water.
Write a story and get your child to illustrate it.
Write letters to family members or each other. Make a pretend post box and mail it to each other.
Coat hanger mobile. Cut out pictures from magazines, hole punch them and use string to attach to a coat hanger.
