My son is studying in a very good university out of India for which we have paid a lit but he has not been serious about his education. He is intelligent and did well in high school but doesn't seem to mature. What do I do?

It was a difficult decision for me to send him abroad to study because he could only visit us once a year. Also he got a very good opportunity. However he is irresponsible and immature. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision.

That seems to be a good idea. He however sleeps late and won't go to classes and now he needs to repeat a term, wish he was more responsible. It is difficult to keep a track sitting miles away.

Quit paying his way. Kids don't grow up when mom and dad continue to support them.

My kid started paying room/board/utilities when he graduated high school, and within a year was in his own flat, paying his own expenses, and working towards school, which he will appreciate much more because he'll be spending his own money on his education, and working hard to get a good value for his money.
