Is a breathing monitor a good idea for a baby with acid reflux?

My 4 month old son has acid reflux and is currently taking Zantac, which has helped alot. More than anything he gags and sometimes chokes when he is sleeping. My husband and I take turns sleeping in shifts, we are very tired and have 3 other children so I was wondering if a sleep monitor may be helpful?

I would talk to a doctor about this. My daughter had acid reflux and if she had her cot tilted at the top end and slept on her back she was fine. You can not go on taking turns to sleep you will both be emotionally and physically exhausted. If you feel the monitor will give you peace of mind then it can do no harm. It is highly unlikely that your son will come to any harm due to acid reflux talk to the professionals that will be able to put your mind at rest and then maybe you and your husband can get that much needed sleep.
