Is a nudist family vacation problematic?

We haven't got away for 2 years. My late husband's cousin and his wife offered to help us by
setting up a getaway in Florida where they are members of a small resort. We'd have the place to stay and affordable rates for everything as guests. There would be nothing for us to figure out and all our expenses, myself and three kids from 8, 13 and 14, would be within our financial limitations.
There is, if you want to call it that, one catch. It is a nudist resort.
Should I just at the chance? Or are there some negatives to weigh?

Hi Sandra. Last summer we spent a couple of days at Wreck Beach in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We had a good time with our then 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son. It's a very popular nude beach with all kinds of people including some families as well. They even have food vendors. Our kids are comfortable with nudity at home, but this was our first time as a family in a public setting. I think I would feel more comfortable with kids at the beach than at a small resort. But hey, pack the I-pad and cell phones and the kids will have a good time anywhere. I assume you've told your kids about the resort and they want to go. I don't think the negatives are any different than you would consider at any other type of resort. Your cousin gave it a good review so I say give it a try. Let us know how the vacation turned out.

I would say that you should really think about this if your family has not been to a place like this before. People are nude and do not wear much of anything if anything at all. You need to consider how your children would react to that. It might be a very uncomfortable option if they do not like to see a bunch of nude people running around no matter if its a family oriented place or not. It also depends on how you have raised your children. There is a difference in nude being a life style and modesty. And if your kids do not like someone seeing them nude, then how are they going to be seeing others nude? I think full immersion into something like this might be a bit too much at once for them especially if they are not used to this kind of thing.

No, we've never been to a nudist beach or anything before.
It is a family oriented place. He and his wife have two kids themselves and they vouch for the place.
What do you think?

Are you willing to expose your kids to a place such as this? Is this something that you are used to?
