Is anyone else tired of makeup?

I just had a baby 3 months ago and was able to stay home for 2.5 months. I have started work again, and I just hate putting on the makeup. I also noticed that my face looks a lot nicer than before I had my baby. I am guessing since I would only wear makeup like once a week before I went back to work. Any tips? I am thinking of not putting it on anymore. I have combo skin. I get shiny on my nose and forehead. I don't even want to put on powder. I am looking for a good moisturizer, I have seen there are some to control the shine and maybe a good night time one, too. Does anyone feel the same? I mean I just don't have time for all that anymore. It is enough getting ready plus 3 kids.

Well, I love makeup and enjoy it very much. What I do is I make sure I exfoliate in the shower and moisuturize afterwards. You would not believe how much better foundation goes on after exfoliating! Whatever you do moisturizing in a must! Makeup has always made my skin better. It feels softer and I like the way I look with makeup on. Two suggestions I have are, either get up a little earlier or leave for work a little earlier and when you drive to the parking lot at work you could put it on in your car. I could never go without makeup or just foundation or just concealer. It really only takes me about 10 minutes. I moisturize, put on my concealer, foundation loose powder, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss. I know this sounds like a lot but honestly it only takes me about 10 minutes.

Have you heard of a makeup sytem called Tru Hue? It's 5 minutes to a flawless face. The purpose is for the busy mom and/or career woman who just doesn't have time and doesn't feel like hunting down makeup or watching video tutorials. 6 Steps, 5 minutes and you're done. I have heard other mother's say they really like not having to "think about" their makeup. You can check it out: www.truhuemakeup.com
I hope this helps!

I'm 21 and haven't worn makeup for over 3 years. My skin is healthier than it ever has been before. Stopped wearing it as my level of confidence was limited to my makeup/hairstyle. Glad I transcended those insecurities.

Sounds like you are seeking a quick out the door look. After completing your basic skin care routine, I recommend putting on a little mascara to bring out your eyes, concealer (only if you have blemishes and dark circles under the eyes), and a lip gloss to make your lips pop. This is an easy 2 minute look to enhance your beauty. Also, make sure you continue to use a basic skin care routine daily in order to cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize, and protect your skin.

You mentioned that your face looks better than before so why not just get a good moisturizer and a little lipstick and be done.

I used to wear makeup daily, now since I've started using Skincerity, I find I don't need to wear makeup at all. I used to get acne around my chin, now I don't have those issues!! I wear eye makeup if I'm going out with the girls, but other than that I find I don't need it! Check it out if you want: www.mynucerity.com/kkamphuis

Try a mineral makeup...Avon has a good one. Although test to get the correct colour as I have found mineral makeups to be very dark. Mineral is great, as it's light, my skin still breathes. I have combination skin and it takes the shine of the 'oily' bits. So quick to apply too! :)

I just use some mascara and a little lipgloss. thats it and im out the door. i have gotten a lot of compliments on my skin since starting with the cream. good luck.

I havent even gone back to work yet and I still cant be bothered to put any make up on...When pregnant my face was so flawless, no pimples and now I just feel so disgusting, small breakout. If I do wear make up, it is a mineral make up. So it's easy to put on and doesn't take long at all. I am using Yuva from Pure Indulgence. You could try that. Bare Minerals is supposed to be a good one and Young Blood.

I felt the same way when my girls were little. I too have three children there are alot of days where I just do powder and lipgloss cause I don't want to deal with it. I agree with the time issue most of the time I don't do the full face thing. one of the best moisturizers I have found is by Avon I can't remember the name but it has a black lid. good luck with everything.

I'd just do lipstick and mascara. It's the minimal, but it doesn't sound like you need any more than that!

I totally get what you're saying! I haven't even had my first yet and getting up and getting ready has become such a chore! Oil blotting wipes are a life saver! Other than that I wear a little mascara and some eye shadow on occasion. Skin care is your biggest concern. If you're going to let your natural show (I totally support that) make sure that you are taking good care of it with a daily wash and night cream, like you said. It will make all the difference in maintaining what you have now. Good luck! :)

I had my eyeliner and lip liner tattooed on. Love it!!I just use moisturizer and blush, mascara and I am good!

i have always had mild break outs and have tried everything from daily cleaning to proactive and nothing worked until I came across mary kay. I got this bright idea to sell it and ended up with a ton of stuff that I never did sell, but two products really stood out.
The acne gel. I started using this and so long as I wash my face at least once a day and use this once a day I don't get break outs anymore.
add to this the oil mattifier which totally controls shine and I don't have a shiny face at the end of the day anymore. now I wouldn't recommend using the mattifier then an oil based makeup, since it will cause it to pill up, but the stuff does work.
so if you are tired of makeup and just want a normal oil free face, go for a mattifier, and then on special occasions grab some physicians formula powder foundation (its just like bare minerals, or bare essentials but much less expensive and available at local stores), and sweep it across your face for an even skin tone. a little mascara and lip gloss and you are done.
oh and I wouldn't buy from a mary kay person unless you get a good deal--I'd go for the websites that sell mary kay from ex-mary kay sales reps...much less expensive that way. :D

I stopped wearing makeup sometime during my third pregnancy - I was just so tired. We were talking about makeup at work one day and I said I just didn't want to be bothered. When the most vain girl at work, who only thought herself beautiful, said to me "yeah, but you have a natural beauty that doesnt NEED makeup," I knew she wasn't just blowing smoke, and now I only wear makeup when I know my picture is going to be taken. I have not been working a front-desk job, or even a job that deals with the public, but I have to say that even if I did start doing that again I really don't think I will do the whole makeup thing. I will only wear it now if I need a pick-me-up or like I said, if I'm getting my picture made. I might try that almay oil-control though - lord my face is oily! I do love Bare-Minerals for now - it is truly light and very easy to apply - and there is never the 'chin-line' from it, lol!!!

I use Oil of Olay moisturizer wash cloths and then the moisturizer..have for years. A little mascara almost daily , once in a while blush. If really fancy evening then a little eye shaddow. I am 58 but I am told all the time I look in my 40's Makeup is totally overrated!

I don't like to wear too much makeup either, not to mention the time issue. I use Olay moisturiser with SPF15 and a hint of foundation in it. It's great, and so quick. Just a bit of compact powder on my nose and forhead, and a little blush and mascara and I look fine.

I havn't worn so much makeup than since I had Charlotte. I just feel more human and feel better when I walk past a mirror to have a little makeup on. I don't know why, it just does. I never used to, but now I put a little on each morning. I guess I'm just taking back a little time and effort for me, instead of for everyone else.

I used to just keep some powder and mascara in my drawer at work and dab it on when I got there to save time.

I put on my makeup at work. I don't have time to sit in front of the mirror at home in the morning because getting out of the house and beating traffic takes priority. I only use mascara, eyeliner and glossy lip balm. It's okay to go natural as long as your face is clean and moisturized. You are still glowing Jeanette!

i stoped puting on make up when i was 8month preg with my little girl..just couldnt be bothed,i where it now and then...,just try to find a good moisturizer for oily skin..i use olay..and i use a Anew retroactive youth exstending cream of a night and my skin liiks really good in the morning...like that lovely glow u get when u r preggers.I also found that my skin was a lot better after i had my daughter.

Well, I really do get tired of using it. But my skin has been breaking out recently (hoping it's a sign of being preggo!) that I have to use something or I look like a pizza-face. It also doesn't help that I get cysts on my face, too. They're huge, they itch, AND they hurt. Totally sucks. :P

HAHAHAHA !!! YES!!!!

I'm so tempted to get some tatooed eyeliner, very fine, nothing glaring so I can short cut or cheat on some days.

I have to say I LOVE Almays new color matching makeup and the one that controls oil is AWESOME. I'm having issues using the cream blusher though.

I got a perm too. Nothing huge, you can't even tell. Except my hair always has body and I don't always have to stand around forever waiting on the curling iron. My stylist used the biggest rods and just did crown of my head (I have so much hair it would at least $400 to do it all) it lifts up and turns away from my face. I LOVE IT.

Actually, now that I think about it, almay has become my favorite makeup company. I have a hard to match skin tone so their color matching foundation is AWESOME. And their eyeshadow kits for specific eye colors are awesome too. Eyeliner, mascara and 3 eyeshadow colors to compliment your specific eye color. VERY handy!

I still don't use it that often - but now that the kids are in school, I'm trying to get back into the habit of giving a crap.

I have to say that I felt the same way for awhile. But putting on makeup has really helped me feel like more of a young woman, instead of just a mom. I wear power (sometimes concealer on bad skin days), blush, and mascara every single day, and even that helps. Good moisturizer is key, too, because if you DON'T use it, your skin becomes more oily (something I learned the hard way). I use Clinique youth surge, it has SPF 15, and I really like it. Invest in some oil blotter wipes, too, they saved me!
