I think essure is more effective. There are more chances for failure with tubal ligation I believe.

I have talked to my doc about it as well. They said either method is totally safe and effective. One is just a surgical procedure and the other is not. So I was just trying to get opinions of others who are familiar with both as well. I am waiting for my 2nd child to get here (due date June 18) and have been debating on which method to do. My husband and I know are certain that our family is complete. My doc said both are permanent. Thank you for your feedback.

Not that I know of. You can ask your doctor how rare the complications are. Personally for me, the complications of getting my tubes tied won over the complications of potentially getting pregnant. It was worth the risk for me. You really need to discuss with your doctor to see if they are worth the chance for you. From what I understand, complications are not that common?? But yeah, hearing it from others that have had it done would help.

Did the people you know that have it have any complications. I was reading a few reviews and people were experience various side effects a year or so after they had it placed.

Yes, I almost got it but opted to get my tubes tied. It is a metal coil they place in your folopium tubes to create scar tissue and seal them up. I have known a couple of people to get it done. Do you have any specific questions?
