My son is now 2 months old, he was born 2 weeks over due, and he spits up around 10-15 times a day, possibly more. I have asked my dr. many times if this is normal, and she said it was, but im concerned. He has a healthy weight gain, and is growing at the proper rate, but I am still concerned. Can anyone help me??

Also this is my first child!!

okay my daughter did the same thing when she was a baby..she's now 10 and etxtremely healthy, and she is my first out of 5 (hopefully soon to be 6 if i am indeed preggers again). Spit up can appear deceiving! 2 teaspoons looks like a quart to us, so its most likely very normal, even that its 10 times a day. Plus if your infant is gaining weight normally than what you see being spit up isn't as much as it looks like. However, if its really bothering you, try these..

If you breastfeeding, change your diet a little bit...Eat things that would maybe be a little better for baby's sensitive tummy

If you're formula feeding, you may need a "sensitive or spit-up designed" formula.. I forgot who it was but one or two of the formula makers have designed types specifically for babies who spit-up alot

Also just makes sure you're burping enough for a 2 month old. Don't wait for the entire bottle to finish then burp, take small breaks in between to let baby burp up any swallowed air from bottle

And also maybe try a new bottle, one that lets less air in through bottle, the bottles box or packaging should specify this

Goodluck, and dont panick, really sounds normal to me. Just keep doc informed :)
