Go to the er today and get this checked out this is not normal and a high temperature like this is serious and is a sign of infection. Your little girl may have an ear infection or something that needs antibiotics or she could of had a virus of some sort. either way a high temperature in children can cause a fit and needs looking into a,s,a.p if it does not come down with infant paracetamol. Always air on ths side of caution with little ones so get her seen by a gp today.

Ladies, the OP seems to have closed her CoM account, so I am locking this conversation. Thank you for your input.

How high a fever needs to be before meriting medical attention varies depending on the age of the infant - the younger the child, then the lower the threshold. You don't say what the age of your child is BUT .... ANY child with a persistent fever above 102 that isn't reduced by home remedies such as baby tylenol, dressing in fewer clothes or bathing with tepid water (NOT COLD) must be investigated by a physician. After 5 days of this, your baby could be seriously ill and/or dehydrated, so as other mothers have said - phone your paediatrician and get her seen ASAP.

I don't think the fever would be that high if it was from teething. It is probably a good idea to have her checked out just in case. Good luck!

You really need to take her to the ER and have a professional look at her. She could be dehydrated.
