I personally found that having 2 wasn't THAT much harder than having one. Mine are 22mo apart. My son is now 3 and my daughter is 1.5
The main difference I found was timing. You can't nap when baby naps anymore, unless your toddler is on the same schedule. If they have opposite schedules, it can be a blessing and a curse. I went through a phase where just as one was waking up, the other was going to sleep (during the day anyways). It makes it easier to be able to devote your time to just one child at a time, but you never get that break of both kids being asleep. If you're lucky, they'll synch up :)
As for all the day to day stuff, I'm finding that it's getting easier as they get older. I can ask my son (older) where his sister is or what she's getting up to instead of having to go chase her down myself. My older boy is super helpful and will go and get me things when I need them, and now, at 1.5yrs, she's finally getting old enough to be able to actually play with him.
There's definitely some things that are harder, especially on bad days when everyone is cranky and crying for every reason and nothing you do helps XD But the good days make it SOOO worth it!! There's nothing better than hearing them tearing about the place, giggling and playing together :) Or sitting and snuggling on the couch. Or watching my son give his sister the last of his treat or whatever other feel good moment type of thing you can think of. Makes every difficult second worth it a million times over :)
