I can't believe you can find time in the mornings to do this. We can barely make it to school on time

You are the parent. If something as benign as a nice warm 5 min shower, gets your get up and cheerfully ready to face the day, do it. I would skip the soap and shampoo on a daily basis, just because it can be drying to the skin.

3 and 5 aren't toddlers. ;)

I prefer to have my son (6 years old) shower/bathe before bed cuz he gets FILTHY, but you go ahead and do whatever works for YOUR family. Your mother had her chance to raise her kids... now it's your turn. ♥

First id like to say thank you all for responding, my children are 3 and 5 yrs of age both in school, no skin conditions I just have a habbit of always bathing as soon as they wake up I give them 5 minutes after they awake then get them showered they seem to be in much better moods and my mother strongly disagrees with me.

Not necessarily necessary, but if that's the way you want to go...it's your kiddo!

Generally, it is not recommended to bathe or shower daily (unless you get really grungy) because your body has bacteria on the skin that are necessary for your health. Bathing or showering babies/toddlers too frequently can affect their immune systems because they won't be able to build up any natural immunities.

I guess I would ask first; how old is your toddler 18mos or 3yo. Why does he/she shower everyday? Is his skin dry?

Unless your child has a skin condition and has been recommended by the doctor to not shower daily I don't see what the problem is... except w/ having a toddler in school. I don't believe toddlers belong in school. ;)
