Is it alright to dye my hair while breastfeeding?

I usually go for the hair dye without ammonia ( it bugs my eyes). But I'm still worried about the chemicals. My baby girl is also just a month. So should I wait a few months?

I would wait a few months, until your breastfeeding is VERY well established. I am a breastfeeding counselor and have breastfed nine children. I colored my hair with the last four and never had any issues. However, newborns need YOUR smell : without scented lotions, shampoos, bodywashes (which should never be used on your nipples), deoderants (which should be all natural because they are so near to your baby's face), or any kinds of chemical smells (including hair colors). Consider highlights -- because they are applied with a brush and do not coat your scalp, your risk of any of the chemicals entering your blood stream is less.
