So my kid has severe asthma and allergies make it worse. He is allergic to cats and my dad has a cat that he lets in the house. Is it better to not bring my kid to my dads house for the night when my sister is visiting? Its just my sister is visiting over christmas and I know they are going to want us to stay the night on christmas eve.
My concern is that its not cleaned before he goes and that my sister may try to get this cat to come inside while my son is there. I dont think they understand the dangers of asthma either considering they tried getting him to go there last year over christmas during an asthma attack while the cat was inside a lot.

Have you spoken to them? As long as they heavily vacuumed and even aired the house out before your arrival I would have no reason not to visit for a awhile, not sure if I would chance an actual overnight though.

Secondly I would give Benedryl before even going to minimize any effects.

I would definitely not bring my kid there, if I were you. Asthma can be fatal if the attack is severe enough. Why risk it?

Its your responsiblity to keep your child healthy, no one elses. So say no, everyone will understand.

I would say no. If he has severe asthma and allergies why would you want to? It will just exacerbate them. Can you have it at your place?
