is it harmful to breastfeed my baby after heavy drink?

last night i drank 5 wines and 2 beers for the first time after pregnancy and i breastfeed my 6 week old baby after 7 hours . is it harmful for him. i m really worried about it?

It's not very smart but baby probably won't feed cause he or she may not like the taste for awhile.

I don't know. If he acted drunk after that would be a sure sign he got some alcohol. If you are truly concerned, call your pediatrician for some reassurance.

i really regret to drink that much... i wont drink that much again.. how can i know it wont be harmful for him?

But, I will say, that is an awful lot of liquor you drank. I would reduce how much the next time. You don't want to take any chances. That isn't fair to baby.

For each drink, it should take your body 1 hour to metabolize it and rid your blood and breast milk of it. Some may take longer. So depending on how quickly you drank, or whatever, you should be ok.....but no one can tell you for sure. I would drink 1 Guiness beer every now and again at night to build up my milk supply (which it worked fantastic) but I was also nervous and would make sure there was a good 2-3 hour gap (or longer) to rid my body of it before bfing.
