Is it normal for a baby to cruise in only one direction?

My twins' turn one today! One of them is quite confident, standing on her own and taking steps unassisted. The other one is less confident, she can pull herself up and will cruise with a big smile on her face around the coffee table until she falls or I pick her up. My concern is, she will only cruise in one direction - to her left. If she is blocked by something, she will stop and cry instead of reversing course...she will refuse to move to her right. We've also noticed she has both feet pointed out when she's standing. Is this a normal developmental thing, what she's confident with, or should we be concerned? We'll ask the pediatrician on Monday, but I was curious if anyone else had the same experience or any thoughts on this. Thank you!

Hi Fatima...yes, I'm pleased to say she's just fine. She's actually ahead of her twin sister in some areas, but she's just not the more athletic of the two so it seems :) but she walks and talks and interacts just great. She did take longer to walk (abour 13 months) but I think she just took her time. I'd say be patient, though if you're not comfortable it doesn't hurt to ask your doctor for reassurance! Good luck!
By the way, I'm not sure she ever did cruise the other direction. One day she just decided she was going to walk instead.

Hello, I know this is an old post, but was wondering if your baby ever started cruising the other direction and is doing ok now? Our daughter is the same way and we were concerned about her development. Thanks!

this is VERY normal... in a few weeks time, she will probably be right along with her sister.
