My 2 and a half yr old never slept by himself he always had someone in his room with him but now he gets up in the middle of the night and comes with me. I have a higher than usual bed and I am afraid he is going to fall out. I don't even know what the word sex is anymore!!

So are you saying his room mates are no longer there? Now he is in a room alone, which is brand new? Any time there is transitioning to do things like this will happen. What else is new? I assumed you were single when you specified he came to sleep with you... If you aren't single and you already have someone in your bed, then this will be a pretty big decision.

When I was married, twice, there was never any snuggle time in "OUR" bed with the boys. I gave them individual snuggle time in their beds or in the living room. There are cases where people have what's called "the Family Bed". that's when everybody sleeps in the same bed. When it comes to sex, they just have it every other place instead of the family bed LOL.

But, really, since I am single again, I do allow my youngest to climb into my bed sometimes. At this point he sleeps pretty WILD so I have opted to make him a small pallet at the foot of my bed and he likes that just as well. When I want some ME time I just make sure my door is locked. He tries for the door and then slowly walks back to his own bed... :)

completely normal. with my son, if he wakes during the night, he comes in and sleeps with my husband and i. at one stage, i had a rail on the side of my bed to prevent him falling out. my 19 month old, though, has learnt the hard way that if he doesnt want to lay still, he will fall off. he is generally in the middle or cuddling me on my side, so unless he is being a worm, like he is so often, he wont fall off.

unless you have issues with it, i wouldnt stop it. you could try putting his mattress on the floor in your room and see if that helps, maybe he just needs you nearby. or maybe a nightlight in his room so when he does wake, he can see where he is and hopefully go back to sleep without disturbing you.

as for sex.....i am sure my husband would like to know what that is seeing as though i am expecting my 4th!

good luck!
