is it normal for my 5 1/2 old daughter rubs herself on her stuffed animals when in bed at night. Help.

I noticed this when she was younger with her stuffed toys. Then it seemed to go away or she did it in private. Now i notice after we put her to bed she comes out 10 mins later all red in the face and needing to use the bathroom. I asked her what she was doing and she told me rubbing on her " big bird". Is this normal? How do i handle this? Just seems disturbing to me that i have to talk about this Already with my little girl.

this is common in young girls, and is completely normal behaviour. shes experimenting with touching herself. You're going to have to talk to her about it though, i would approach it by saying its ok to touch herself but not with her toys, because she could hurt herself or get germs, and remind her to wash her hands with soap when shes done. Sounds full on doesnt it haha, but if only more people had these conversations with their children!
