Is it normal for your 17 year old son to play video games all the time with his friends with little interaction with his parents?

Yes! I look at it like this,if he's at home playing those video games,he's not out getting in trouble!

yes, especially in this day and age. guys are all about some video games anyway, even more so as teenagers. teens feel disconnected from their parents because they're trying to figure out who they are before they become adults. it's normal. as long as he's not doing anything harmful to himself or others, i wouldn't worry about it. video games are generally an escape and at 17 most kids want to escape the real world, or at least their home life. i know i did. i was ready to get out of my house at 16, but i lived with people who gave off lots of negative vibes that messed with my mojo, lol.

Certainly is they are growing up and beginning to wean away from parents and want to be with friends a heck of a lot more.
