Is it normal that after the umbilical stump falls off it bleeds a little?

Thank you all! The doc said no alcohol either haha and to let it be, and so I did. Now it just looks normal no more crusty blood or anything. I will still keep it clean and dry just in case for any infections while it still heals. (not sure how long it's supposed to heal for, but you get my point)

Normal. This happened with my 9 month old and I freaked. It did it for about a week. Our pedi said it was totally normal but to leave it be. Watch for infection. I did dab a little alcohol on it each morning because she pees so much and it would get wet from pee or poo occasionally.

NO for the alcohol wipes! DON"T DO IT! Just leave it alone. Yes, it can bleed a little bit, and do not submerge into water (bath) until it is completely healed. If you are concerned, call the pediatrician. Especially if there are signs of infection. If it just scabs up and looks normal and healthy, just leave it alone. DO NOT put alcohol on it. Also, you can fold the diaper down so it does not rub it and irritate it, or pull the scab off and make it bleed more.

I would just keep cleaning it with the alcohol wipes. If it doesn't go away in a few days, talk to the pediatrician. We ended up having our daughter's belly button cauterized after her stump fell off
