Hi everyone, it's 1:20am and I cannot sleep, my 6 month 3 week old rolls over onto her tummy at night and sleeps on her cheek sometimes face, which is the most scary part. So here I am, not able to sleep because of it. I worry about SIDS, I even feel scared to type it. will this rolling onto tummy to sleep end? I am frightened for her.

My son has been sleeping on his tummy since he was about 4 or 5 months old. I would put him on his back and he would roll over, when I asked my mom about this she asked me if I planned on standing over his bed all night to prevent it. If she is able to roll herself in the position she is fine.

Once your child starts rolling over on their own it's generally considered safe for them to sleep on their tummy. You should keep putting her down on her back but if she rolls over that's ok.

Yeah, I was basically up most of the night flipping her onto her back. My son was never like this, he slept well on his back. This started when we moved her from her bassinet to crib.
