My daughter has slept on her tummy since the moment she was born. It was the only way she would settle. She is now 1 and she still always rolls onto her tummy. When I was a baby, my mother was told to only put us on our tummies, and her mum was told to always put the babies on their sides. My point is that the opinions and advice change, so you need to do what works for your child, and both my kids sleep on their tummy and they are fine. :)

whenever i lay my son on his back in his crib he automatically rolls onto his side and then when i go to check on him or get him up from his nap or sleep his is always on his stomach. i think that it is fine

I would put her to sleep on her back, but if she ends up on her tummy at some point, not to worry.

any doctor will tell you if she gets there on her own then she's fine to stay there so i wouldn't worry.

I don't think its a problem if she is putting herself there, if she can get there she can most likely get out of that position.

If she's rolling over onto her tummy herself then don't worry. Let her sleep how she wants. I know its against recommendations but I started putting my daughter on her tummy to sleep quite young (about 4 months). After 2 months of sleepless nights (she slept in our bed on her side for the first 2 months) because she wouldn't sleep on her back (she hates it) I gave in and put her on her tummy. After that we started getting 4+ hour stretches of sleep. Before that we were only getting a max of 2 hrs if we were lucky.

Can she roll tummy to back & back to tummy? If so then I think it's fine. Once my son could do both those, I let him sleep how he chose.
