Is it ok to continue losing weight the first half of pregnancy?

I had my second child in July of 2014 and before he has even turned 1 year old, I found out I am pregnant with my third!!! So unexpected. I have been on a diet/exercise program for the last 6 months to try to lose all the baby weight from him. I was within 5lbs of making my goal when I found out. So is it ok to still lose the last 5 lbs? I heard you don't need to gain any weight until the second half of pregnancy and that you can keep it to about 15-20 lbs.

You definitely shouldn't be continuing on a diet and exercise program that is intended to make you lose weight. Instead, you should focus on a gentle exercise program intended to remain fit, and a diet that is healthy (but not intended to lose weight, just general healthy eating).

It is not OK to intentionally lose weight while pregnant. An average sized woman 'should' gain around 25-30 pounds during pregnancy. Do not diet while pregnant... please.
