Come on now, Shawnn, with a name like Pixie, this mom is obviously a free spirit and into self expression. ;)
Pixie, If you went with a permanent dye, then it probably wasn't a good idea. Many schools where I live don't allow unnatural hair color on students. Hair chalk lets her change things up on the weekends and have some fun with color without being permanent. Good thing is that hair grows back, so you can chop it all off and have it come back in her natural color.

I allow my 8 year old daughter to experiment with hair color (via hair chalk and color combs). It gives her the opportunity to express herself and explore her individuality.
I'd only suggest that you do not use anything permanent as not to damage her hair. Otherwise continue to allow her to be expressive.
Remember that the only opinions of your parenting that matter are those of the ones who's parent you are!

Its your choice. Obviously, you've already done it, so why are you asking if it is OK to do so?
Personally? I think that teaching an 11 YO that the way to behave is to constantly change her body image is irresponsible. At 11, you should be promoting her natural beauty, not trying to change it.
