Is it ok to feed a one week old more than 7 ozs of formula?

Yes, it depends on the baby, some require more than others. My Daughter was 4 days old on formula and a bit of baby cereal.

Oh, I never said it wasn't the cereal of choice, I was saying you don't give it to 4 day old babies. Formula or breastmilk only. End of story. 28 years ago, they didn't have the research they do today about the health risks of making that choice. But then, even in the 70s, 3 months was the recommendation, not 4 days.

Well, sorry, but you shouldn't be feeding a 4 day old any baby cereal. It is not necessary, is feeding the poor child empty calories and potentially harming her health.
