Is it ok to leave my almost 4 month old with his aunt/godmother for a full day?

My husband and I are planning to leave early one morning and not returning until late that night. I am naturally paranoid about leaving my 4 mo old for the whole day even though it is my sister. He breastfeeds when I am around but is perfectly OK with formula when I am away. I have to be away a few hours at a time mon-fri but never for the entire day before. Does anyone have any advice on what they have done or what I can do to prepare him and myself?

If you are ok with it... and you pump... it's fine. I couldn't do it, but I'm not you. ;)

Thanks! Your right, I do need to try and relax. I woke up in the middle of the night last night just thinking in my head all the things I need to make sure my sister knows about taking care of him. It's good to know that other people feel the same :)

My advice is to...relax! Its awesome that you are worried about this because to me it shows you really care! As long as you're leaving him in a safe environment with a trusted loved one I don't see any issue. Just go do what you need to do, try to be less paranoid (I totally understand that btw)...don't feel guilty or anything negative. You'll be back, and everything will be fine. The first time I had to be away from my babies for more than a few hours, it truly was harder on ME than them lol! :)
