Is it ok to let baby cry?

I have a question I have been babysitting my niece for awhile now. I feed her than change her and put her down. She cries everytime I put her down. I cant hold her forever. I make sure she is fed and clean. I have my own to take care of you know. She is a little over three months old. Is it bad just to let her cry. I dont want her to think she feels ignored.

You could put her in a bouncy seat and let her watch what you're doing. I think babies need to cry a little bit before being held.

Babywearing is great. It means you have your hands free to do other stuff, but she is also held close so she is comforted.

Do you have a sling you could wear her in? That way she can still be held, but you can easily get other stuff done as well.

IMO, it is ok to put her down for a bit even if she cries (like if you have to pee), but if it's for more than a few minutes she needs to be held.

Sounds like separation anxiety. She needs physical attention. You're going to get a wide variety of answers but my opinion is that if kids need to be held, it's ok.
