Is it okay to give your baby apple sauce and rice cereal at 2 almost 3 months?! I really think that's too early but I have a friend who gives her son rice cereal as a bottle replacement. I mentioned to her to ask her doctor about it but I don't want to tell her how to parent her own child but I want to inform her of the allergies and/or obesity that could potentially happen. I have done research about just because I am concerned.

But its her kid an could ruin yiur friendship if you tell her not to Id say your doctor told you. Im sure she has to see one too. So i doubt she told him that she feeds the baby all day an solids.

Babies are meant to go every 3-4 hours between feedings. Like an adult the more we eat the more we need to. Only a babys stomach cant handle that much food. Adults can keep gaining weight when the stomachs stretched for an infant it could be dangerous. The baby could also choke if they havnt developed enough to swallow food yet.

I do her baby is 2 weeks older than mine. And yeah I definitely don't want to smell like i'm nagging. She said that it doesn't even fill him up very long either. So I don't know what kind of advice to give her. Thank you(:

Way to early. An never to replace formula or breast milk babies need that. 4 months for cereal an 6 months for baby food. In the olden days they said a little rice cereal in the formula bottle mixed helped babies sleep at night. My grandma said it worked an my son threw up. I talked to the doctor an she said itll stretch their little stomachs out if you give them too much to early.

It is recommended to wait till 6 months, many babies aren't ready till then although some may be ready at 5 months, others later. You've done your research and know all the reasons why you shouldn't, and when solids are introduced they should never take the place of a bottle. Solids before one are just for fun, however I think you've done all you can do with your friend. Any other advice or bringing it up again will seem like nagging, if you have a child around the same age you can say you asked your doctor because you really want to start and say he said no.
