WTF? He is 4 months old! Kicking is normal physical activity for a child this age!!! It's not like he is kicking to hurt you or anything. Why would you hit a 4 month old child?

Can I suggest you find somewhere in your area that has parenting classes? If you think this is misbehaving you are seriously needing some help.

Never, ever, ever by any stretch of the imagination is it OK to hit a 4 month old for any reason. He is a BABY and is exercising his legs. If he kicks you while carrying him... hold his legs.... Just make sure he has plenty of floor time, so that he can kick his legs as much as he wants. It's good for his development.

Do not hit your child. If you are trying to hold your child and they are kicking, then maybe wrap them in a blanket to keep their legs still. If you are changing diapers and the child is kicking, then be quick and try not to get kicked. Never hit your baby. They are not trying to hurt you.

I'm with Jodi, you NEVER hit a child. Kicking at that age is a reflex action and not intended to hurt.
