I agree with Shawnn, If you can afford to stay at home then fine but otherwise you may want to look at part time work instead.
You said in your post you need the money so what do you think will change if you stop working? It will only put more strain on your family and I'm sure you don't want that.

It can be hard, but if you cannot afford not to work, then you need to work. It would not be ok to quit your job and go on assistance in order to stay home and have 'more time'.

We were expecting our third when I decided I was sick of missing out on milestones and special moments. We both work in healthcare so weekends, nights and holidays were part of our schedules. I made a lot. We went over our budget and decided we could make it. We did without a lot of extras and things were very tight but it was worth it. My mother was the one who advised me; "you won't be old and look back and wish you'd worked more, you will wish you'd spent time with your kids". That did it for me

It depends on your personal situation. As hard and exhausting as it can be to manage work, school and kids, if your spouse's income cannot support the family, then for me, it is a no brain-er decision...you must continue to work. If his income can support the family then i don't see why you two could not discuss having you stay home for a few years until the kids are a little older.
I have 2 boys, 7 and 5....in my case, i decided to work while he stayed home because my income was substantially more than his (oh yea...i cried over this decision for weeks and for the first few months, he brought my kids to have lunch with my every day :))

Hope that helps and good luck!
