I gave birth via c section to my son 4 weeks ago. I've been consistently breastfeeding so I've been losing some of my weight from my pregnancy, but I would like to know if it's possible to get a flat tummy again! I know I can't work out for a while..but once I get the ok from my DR..I'd like to know what I can do.Give me your success stories ladies!

I did not have a C-section but its common sense that you have to wait until the doctor okay's your activities beyond what you have to do for the baby and yourself. Even those of us who have vaginal delivery are not up and going strong a few days after delivery. We still have to wait six weeks to do some things. After first birth, I did not loose all the weight but my body had changed to the point that my waist and hips were a bit wider rather than back to the place they were before because they had widened to allow for the baby. No more flat tummy either. With my second I gained 15 pounds but I was also larger at the time too and lost all of it and this time there was no flat tummy.

You just had a baby. Do not be in such a hurry to look like you did before you had one. Your body has also changed too. You are going to have to take that into consideration as your body made room for that child and your organs got moved around to other places to make that room. So those organs are now going back to where they were and also a C-section is major surgery. You need to allow your body to heal. Do not push yourself so much. If people can not love or like you for who you are instead of what you look like, they are not people that really care. Not all women who give birth naturally get their flat tummy back in a matter of weeks. Only those celebs that have the money to get help to do this can or the atheletes that are used to working out can get that back. Enjoy your baby and worry less about the tummy. It will either go back or it won't.

ya I definitely waited the six weeks;actually 2 months becuz I was thinking I wanted my incision to heal up really good first & plus u have to wait until the gap in your stomach muscles closes becuz u don't want to aggravate diastasis recti if there's a chance u have tht.my hips did not get any wider unfortunately;my waist is definitely a couple inches wider still but here's to hoping tht will come off!lol but all we can do is be our best self in the end & u seem motivated so u will be just fine :)

of course u can have a flat tummy again it will just take time;I'm 6 months postpartum & mine is almost back to normal & I've been relatively lazy whn it comes to workouts as in only exercising 3 or so times a week.I workout mainly @ home since it's most difficult to get to the gym with a baby although of course u can if u feel comfortable leaving your baby @ gym daycare;I have a lot of my own equipment in the den but just as far as tummy exercise I do sit ups until failure.I do them on a mat with my feet anchored under the end of the couch or bicycle ones, oblique crunches, planks, plate twists etc;if u were fit before your pregnancy u will be surprised to find out it will take a little extra work.my sister also had a c-section & her tummy is as flat as can be however she has never worked out a day in her life but she doesn't eat.like ever.lol.jk but really she eats like a bird so tht's another option

Thank you so much for the response! I've been asking everyone I know about getting a flat tummy again. I've completely stopped eating junk, and I'm eating much healthier now. How long was it before you started to workout after your c section? @onetraeh
