My son started having fever on friday,on sunday he started getting little spots all over his body. On monday we took him to the doctor and he said it looks like Chicken Pox,if our son starts scratching we must give him feniallerg. Heres the thing, yesterday he vomited twice,he never scratched the spots and today he is doing much better and the spots are almost gone. I thought chicken pox spots would fill with fluid, itch and take along time to heal..not only 3days small little spots. Is it normal that a child vomits when they have chicken pox? And wouldnt chicken pox spots fill with fluid, itch and take a long time to heal?(2-3weeks not 3days)Thanks for any info!

It can be normal for chicken pox to come and go very quickly in some kids.
I had chicken pox for almost 3 weeks, but several of my cousins and friends only had them for a couple of days. I did vomit a lot. Some of my friends and cousins did too, but most didn't, so while I don't think vomiting is the norm, I do think it can happen and shouldn't worry you.

Was your son vaccinated against chicken pox?

I believe that there is a test to check for antibodies. If your son wasn't vaccinated, and this was a chicken pox infection, he should test positive for anti-bodies - although I'm not sure how long after an infection it will take for the test to be accurate. You'd definitely need to talk to your doctor.

Chicken pox infections can be very mild. When my brother had them he was covered, and he was an itchy, pussy mess. When I had them I only had a few, they didn't get pussy, I don't remember them itching at all, and they healed really fast... although 3 days sounds way too fast!

Anyway, it should be possible to check and see if your son has chicken pox immunity.

Not vaccinated because here where i live with my family they dont vaccinate for chicken pox..actually the doctor even told us to let him play with children to get them infected. Just not pregnant women. But i am keeping him away from other children atm. I phoned yesterday because of the vomiting, they just told me as long as he drinks they cant do/give anything. I just cant quite believe its really chicken pox because theses little spots are really so small and almost gone after only 3 days.
