Is it safe to drink alcohol 2 weeks after giving birth?

I had my son 4 weeks ago, unfortunately he died at 7 days old. Ever since I arrived home, I have been a complete mess and have drank alcohol every night (not heavily drank) as it seems to have got me to sleep at night, taking the stress away, Im just worried this could have upset my healing process?
Since giving birth, my body has ached all over, he was 10lb 10ounces and my second child. Im still aching now and have stomach ache, nothing major, should I still be aching after 4 weeks??? I would go to my doctor to get checked over, but dont have any trust in the health service, as they were the ones that are half of the problem why he died.

I am so sorry for your loss Natalie, but you should still receive post partum checks for your own health. I would also encourage you to seek counseling to help you heal over the loss of your son. Please, please, please, talk to someone you do trust about the drinking. It is never healthy behaviour to turn to alcohol to help you cope with difficult situations and emotions. It is alcoholic behaviour and I fear that if you continue on this path that it will become a bigger problem for you than what it is right now. Your first child needs you there for her/him and part of that is making sure you're taking care of yourself. Please seek help! And again, I am terribly sorry for your loss.
